City Mayors, the international think tank on urban affairs, first commissioned Kaspar Swankey to sculpture the World Mayor trophy in 2004. His brief was to produce a unique sculpture that reflected the prestige of the Prize and would become recognisable worldwide. Kaspar not only produced an exceptionally beautiful piece, he also did so within budget and the agreed time frame. His work was of such high standard that we commissioned him to sculpture the trophies for subsequent awards including the 2010 World Mayor Prize.

Reference for Kaspar Swankey
I have worked with Kaspar on a number of projects over the past ten years, starting with some interesting balustrading, fire grills and fire surrounds. Later he has produced sections of external cladding, door thresholds in vermiculite copper, a spectacular hanging grill for a large kitchen and a number of individual pieces for various projects.
In each case Kaspar was able to grasp what was required of him remarkably quickly - to understand the style I was after, the finish and above all to communicate his ideas to both myself and the client. It takes great skill to be able to think through a design, plan it, and install the finished piece to the client's satisfaction and Kaspar manages to do all this with flair.
He is a trustworthy colleague and produces work to budget and on time. He is reliable and conscientious, and a great asset to any building team. I would have no hesitation to recommend his work to others and wish him the very best in the future.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Kaspar Swankey has carried out metalwork assignments for me on two separate occasions. Each time the work was efficiently and effectively handled and I have found him to be a reliable and pleasant individual.

RE: Mr Kaspar Swankey
I have known Mr Swankey for at least five years and count him as a good friend and highly trusted colleague. Over the last year he has undertaken extensive work for me at the above address in South London. This work has included decorating, carpentry, metalwork and sundry other alteration work. The standard of Kaspar's work is exceptional. He pays particularly good attention to preparation and completion; he manages his work well and is exceptionally efficient in use of materials and work effort. Kaspar thinks ahead and always gives welcome and excellent advice on decor and construction issues.
Kaspar is honest and totally reliable.
Whether as tenant, colleague, or employee, I highly commend him.

To who it may concern,
I have employed Kaspar Swankey on 2 occasions and he proved to be a hard and conscientious worker. The first job he did for me was to renovate a bathroom which he completed to a high standard, creatively using low grade materials, making these look far better than I had expected. He worked late to complete the job to a tight deadline having used his design talents to develop my rather vague brief.
The second piece of work Kaspar did for me was the external decoration of my house. Again, he produced high quality work, completing the work to my complete satisfaction.
I also have a piece of Kaspar's art which is a much loved and admired part of my home.
I recommend Kaspar to future employers.
Yours faithfully,
Justine Buchanan (Mrs)
